Manchester United booked their place in the EFL Cup final despite suffering a 2-1 defeat in the second leg of their semi-final clash with Hull City.
A Tom Huddlestone penalty broke the deadlock on the night, after Harry Maguire had been nudged over inside the box by Marcos Rojo.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic went close to offering an immediate response for United at the KC Stadium, while second half penalty shouts from Paul Pogba and Chris Smalling fell on deaf ears.
Jose Mourinho’s men did eventually pull level on 66 minutes, with Pogba poking home through a group of bodies.
Both sides then hit the woodwork before Oumar Niasse handed Hull a lifeline five minutes from time.
It was not to be for the Tigers, though, as despite ending United’s 17-game unbeaten run, they fell to a 3-2 aggregate defeat.
