Secondary School Boy Sacrifices His Life To Prevent Bomber From Killing Hundreds Of People (Photo)

A student of Darussalam Science and Islamic Academy (DAISA) has lost his life while trying to protect hundreds of Muslims worshipers from a bomber at Kaleri mosque, Maiduguri on January 25.

According to a post on the school’s Facebook group, the boy had an encounter with a female bomber who tried to force her way into the mosque.

At about 5a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, female bombers attack Maiduguri, Borno and a teenage girl blew herself up after she was prevented from advancing towards a mosque where Muslims where having their morning prayers.

The boy, Yakubu Muhammad Fannami, was one of the members of a civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) who prevented the girl. Fannami lost his life immediately the bomb exploded while three other members of the JTF were rushed to a hospital.

Less than two weeks ago, another bomb exploded at the University of Maiduguri mosque, Borno state.

The bombers were laced with improvised explosive devices and stormed the prayer ground as early as 5 am.

The bombers killed a director of veterinary medicine, Professor Aliyu Mani, and four others while another 15 persons are said to be injured.

Serious Gobe!! Man Drags And Ràpes A Woman In The Bush On His Wedding Day (Photo)

In what will come across as a really shocking development, a man has stunned many people after engaging in an act of r*pe on his wedding day.

A man identified as Derry Flynn McCann, has appeared in court charged with four rapes and a robbery which were allegedly carried out on his wedding day.

According to The Sun UK, McCann, a 28-year-old, has been remanded in custody over the alleged offences.

Police arrested him after a 24-year-old woman reported being attacked in a park in Hackney, East London, in the early hours of January 13 as she walked home following a night out with friends.

She told police a man grabbed her and demanded cash before dragging her into bushes and raping her.

McCann, from Hackney, was arrested and charged six days later.

He had married on the day of the alleged attack and posted pictures of himself with his new wife on his public Facebook page.

Their ceremony took place at The Vestry in Bromley-by-Bow, East London.

McCann appeared at Thames magistrates’ court on January 20 charged with four counts of rape and one of robbery against the same alleged victim.

He is not thought to have entered a plea.

The case has been sent to Snaresbrook crown court with a hearing set for February 16.

After the alleged r*pe, officers from the Met Police issued a description of their suspect.

They said he was white, aged 30, 5ft 8in tall and spoke with a London accent.

The man being sought was dressed in a grey hooded top with a black body warmer, blue jeans and grey trainers.

McCann’s wife, who is heavily pregnant, declined to comment.

High Court Stops About 42,000 Niger Deltans From Getting Compensation From Shell

A London high court has rule that two communities in Niger Delta region, who were allegedly polluted by Shell cannot get any compensation from the oil company.

The two communities in the Niger Delta, Ogale and Bille allege that decades of oil spills have polluted their fishing waters and contaminated their farmland.

BBC AFRICA reported that the case against Shell was brought by two communities, Ogale and Bille. The law suit was brought by more than 2,000 fishermen and their families in the Bille kingdom, and another by about 40,000 people in the Ogale community in Ogoniland, in the oil-rich Niger delta.

The London High stated that the case against Royal Dutch Shell, and its subsidiary Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, did not have the prospect of success and therefore could not proceed.

The court decided that the oil spill which affected 40,000 people should be heard in a Nigeria court and not a foreign court.

The lawyer of the two communities affected by the spill said they would appeal the ruling of the London High Court.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian government has won back ownership of OPL 245 which is considered the largest oil block in Africa with over 9 billion barrels of crude.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) secured a court order mandating the return of the oil block to the federal government.

The order was granted by Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court on Thursday, January 26 morning, pending “the conclusion of investigations…”

Just In: Senate Investigates Babatunde Fashola! (Read Why)

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola is under the radar as the Senate is set to investigate alleged irregularities of contracts by his ministry and the Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP.

Following a motion by Senator Dino Melaye, APC-Kogi, the legislative body on Thursday asked its committee on public procurement to scrutinize the contracts awarded by the ministry after improper approval by the BPP.
In the lead presentation, Mr. Melaye said the BPP irregularly revised its approval of the contracts awarded under the ministry headed by Babatunde Fashola.

Mr. Melaye said after conveying its approval of the contracts in line with the laws, the BPP in a second letter changed the list of the contractors to ones not recommended by the ministry and inflated the costs.

“The BPP got a letter from the Federal Ministry of Works, Power and Housing for the award of two batches of contracts”, Mr. Melaye said when the matter was first brought up on Wednesday.

“The first is the award of the construction and rehabilitation of 10 roads and bridges under the 2016 Budget in November, 2016. The second batch is the award of the construction of bridges and roads – 13 of them – in the 2016 Budget.

“The ministry sent a letter to the BPP, asking that 10 companies, which had undergone its (the ministry’s) internal due process and technical qualification, be issued Certificate of No Objection for the award of the contracts.

“The BPP, after its diligence, wrote its first report, giving the ministry the nod. But somehow, a second letter came from the BPP, indicating ‘Revised Due Process Review.’ This is now a review of the first one.

“What caught my attention is that while the first was in compliance with what the ministry recommended, in the second letter, they (BPP) completely changed the list of the contractors.

“Not that the contractors were just changed, figures also varied. In the first batch of 10, a contract was given to new contractors, who were not assessed by the ministry. After awarding the contracts to them, the initial contract awarded for the Muman-Jalingo Road in Adamawa State, was given to a new contractor at N12.8bn as against N11bn that was recommended by the ministry.

“Another contractor was also given a new contract against the recommendation of N10bn; the contract was now awarded at N14bn.”

When deliberation on the matter resumed on Thursday, Mr. Melaye asked the Senate to note that the BPP contravened the Public Procurement Act and directly awarded over-inflated contracts to companies not recommended by the ministry.

So Sad! Nigerian Literary Icon Buchi Emecheta Dies In London

Buchi Emecheta, one of Nigeria’s iconic literary figure, is dead.

According to reports, Emecheta died in London yesterday, January 25 at the age of 72.

She was born on July 21, 1944 to the family of Alice Okwuekwuhe Emecheta and Jeremy Nwabudinke, both parents were from Ibusa, Delta state.

In her lifetime, she authored over 20 books including popular titles like Second-Class Citizen (1974), The Bride Price (1976), The Slave Girl (1977) and The Joys of Motherhood (1979).

Emecheta’s social theme in most of her books included child slavery, motherhood, female independence and freedom through education.

Consequently, she won considerable critical acclaim and honours, including an Order of the British Empire in 2005.

Rest In Peace A Great Author.

Story Time: “Sege Scream In Pain, Rumbling And Crying For Help But Who Are We To Help The Poor Boy” (Journey To Igbo-Irumole — Episode 21, 22 & 23)

This continue for several minutes then kola brakes in..

Kola : ben let’s enter this water, how on earth can we stand ojiji’s power
Sege : yes let’s do that, me no fit face ojiji o
Cynthia : ben answer nah

I stood in silence as I watch every of their gesture, then I started thinking of what to do, my mind tells me to follow the one standing at the opposite of the river bank, but how on earth can I stand the wrath of ojiji, never! That’s not possible jare..

Yet my mind keep telling me to face ojiji, then I have no choice than to face him, cus my mind has not let me down starting from the day we start the quest.. I told others about this, but they turned down the idea, claiming we can’t stand ojiji…
Me : guyz, my mind no de deceive me..
Kola : ben abeg, me am not ready to die in the hands of the most powerful creature in this forest..pls look for another idea.

Cynthia : ben, let’s enter this water..
Sege : ben you no well at all, na which kind yeye idea be dat?
Me : you guys should calm down, all we need is to be one..lets forget about individuality now, we have to fight this together. What I was thinking is, if the possible way to hold the egg without the awareness of ojiji is by holding down our breath, then we can fight him by holding our breath..

Kola : how?
Me : ok, it’s like this, shebi the egg is ojiji’s heart ? With this we can fight him with his heart in our hands, now the warning is, when ojiji finally gets here, we will start passing the egg, once it gets to you, you must hold your breath, till u pass it to someone else.. my mind tells me ojiji doesn’t have eyes..so the only way he could see us is by hearing us breath..when the egg is with you he won’t be able to harm you . he will perform some set of scary trick, but please don’t be panic o..

Finally I was able to convince others to succumb to my point, then ojiji appeared to the scene, offcus I guessed right, ojiji has no eyes.. we started transferring the egg among ourselves, for almost an hour ojiji was unable to see us.. he walks around us and started sniffing us one after the other..

The first person was me, he dazzling wine and twist before me, but I didn’t make a move , when he move, I passed the egg to Sege, ojiji instantly continues the same action then Sege failed , he breath and passed the egg to Cynthia, immediately ojiji spit fire on Sege, and the fire consumed him from head to toe…

….Episode 22….

Sege scream in pain, rumbling and crying for help but who are we to help the poor boy, we are also faced with the challenge of deciding between life and death.. ojiji get to Cynthia and started displaying, Cynthia closed her eyes and never make a sound nor breath, ojiji free her and got to kola as she quickly passed the egg to kola, kola also survived ojiji’s threat..

Then ojiji left, we started running till we get out of the scene, on our way going Cynthia step on a reddish stuff, immediate she fell down and started shaking.

Me : Cynthia, what’s wrong with you?
Kola : Cynthia talk na

We keep asking her some set of questions but she could not reply us, then my mind asked me to lay the egg on her chest, I did that immediately and she stop shaking.
Cynthia : what happened to me?
Me : you step on a reddish stuff and you fell..
Cynthia : heeee! So na like that I for take die *crying*
Me : calm down, at least you are save now, very soon we will soon be out of this..
Kola : guyz let’s start moving, it’s getting late, I don’t want us to spend another night in this evil forest..

We stood up and started walking, but we don’t know where we are heading to cus we have already missed our way,this continued for several hours, before kola asked us to relax that he would go and check maybe there could be a way closer to us.

We trust him and we sit, kola left for the search as he said, I and Cynthia were discussing about how we are going to spend our money when finally we are out of the forest, already I don de fall in love with Cynthia ,so I was like telling her I would probably marry her and settle down after the search.. suddenly I heard a strong knock on my head, that’s all..

I woke up and saw blood all over me, Cynthia was gone and no sign of the egg and kola also, I tried to think about what happened but my head hurts really bad so I can’t stress myself ,I forced myself to stand up then I fell again and faint ,but this time I opened my eyes and saw some set of lights around me, I could feel the softness of a bed, how come am on a bed when I knew I fell in the middle of the evil forest..
I tried to lift myself up then I heard a soft female voice

Girl : please relax don’t stress yourself, or the wound will not heal on time
Me : who are you and where am i?‎
Girl : when the time comes, you will surely know
Me : how do I get here
Girl : when the time comes, you will know everything..
Me : what! Don’t I have the right to know where and how I get here?

The I heard a deep voice from the other room

Man : calmdown and use your drugs, we will explain everything to you.. just relax
Me : no, I want to know now..
I was actually shouting way too loud then suddenly I faint again

The next time I opened my eyes, was when someone enter the room and opened the window opposite the be I layed on, I saw a shining atmosphere shining towards my face like a huge touch light, it’s already another day, I said to myself..

I lift myself and sit on the bed, that was when I could get the clear picture of how the girl look, she is a tall curvy girl with nice figure eight shape, omo I almost lost my senses when she turned around, omo see bakasi!!!..

Girl : good morning, how are you feeling now?
Me : am fine.. (I touched my injured spot)
Girl : yesterday, u screamed too much and you lost strength, daddy said it’s because you have not eat anything for day?
Me : *smiled*
Girl : is daddy right?
Me : *i stood silent for a while *
Girl : anyways, my name is joke..
Me : ok am Benjamin
Joke : Benjamin, that’s a nice name
Me : *smile* thanks , so when will you tell me how I get here and how you found me…?

Yet again, the deep voice brakes in again as if he was waiting for me to ask the question..
Man : when you take your drugs and your brakefast
Me : *smiled* ok sir
I took my bath and also the tribal herbs given to me by joke, I was in the room dressing up when joke mistakenly enters, actually I was about to put on my shorts..I quickly cover myself with the towel they gave me..

Joke : oh my gush! Am so sorry..I actually came to tell you it’s brakefast time
Me : don’t be, I should be sorry , cus I left the door open when I was naked..tell daddy I will be there in a jiffy
Joke smiled and walked out of the room,in five minutes time I joined them in the sitting room, with a big bowl of fufu and black soup sitting gorgeously on the table before joke and his father, I sat beside joke and we started eating.

Me : this food is delicious, it taste like my mum’s food..
Joke : I actually cooked that.
Me : hmmm, you are such a good cook joke..
Joke : thanks, I learned that from daddy..
Me : wow! Dad is really a great teacher then..
Joke dad : thanks for the complement..

After eating joke, cleared the table, then I asked joke’s dad how he found me and where we are..
Joke dad : that night , I went hunting, for the whole night all my traps did not catch any animal, so I was very annoyed,i decide to start going home since all my traps are empty, on my way going, I saw you laying in pool of blood, at first I thought it was one of dose monsters who could transformed to human, not until I get to you and I discovered its a human, I thought u were dead so I want to leave you there, but I heard you saying help me, that’s why I bought you here.. this place is not too far from a big town called oke-lisa..

BREAKING: Tinubu Sends STRONG Message To Buhari’s Government As Recession Bites Harder

The national leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has noted the current hard times that have enveloped Nigerians stressing that the country needed an economic restructuring that would require a change in mindset and strategy.

Daily Trust reports that while speaking on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the National Defence College (NDC) Abuja, during the presentation of paper titled: ‘Strategic leadership: my personal theory and practice’, the former governor of Lagos said Nigeria’s monetary policy must be consistent with the environmental need of the country’s domestic requirements.

He lamented that much is tied down warning the government to urgently ease its current monetary policy.

Apart from this, the government, he said, must stimulate the economy.

“You have to spend yourself out of this recession and you cannot do that by consistently stifling the banks of liquidity.

“Sincerely, where we see contradiction in the policy, we are going to talk about it, this is a nation of freedom, a democratic country, and this is our government, we are not like the other party who will invent one lie to lie, and to bury a lie and other mistakes.

“The monetary policy needs constant reviews and evaluations, and how it would affect the market and ordinary people as well, because if there is no liquidity in the market the Banks would price out the ordinary man, and inflation is growing at 18 percent,” he reportedly warned adding that at this stage, deficit spending is essential to boost employment and development.

According to him, it is necessary to harmonise monetary policy with fiscal policy, because a tight monetary policy would injure goals where fiscal policy comes with deficit.

Tinubu reportedly advised that the country’s trade policy be re-aligned to create a strong industrial base and boost agriculture.

He reportedly noted that industrialization was necessary and that the country can no longer allow cheap imports to take over its system.

Mr Sunday Olaosebikan on Wednesday, approached an Igando Customary Court in Lagos to end his seven-year-old marriage to his wife, Mutiatu, for allegedly demanding for money before sex.

He told the court:-

“My wife always refuses me sex until she collects N500. ‘’This, I am sure, is why she has not conceived after the birth of our only child, who is six-year old now.

“I am tired of paying N500 per round before having sex with my wife, please dissolve the union. He further told the court said that Mutiatu always threatens to kill him.

“My wife is after my life, she stabs me with dangerous weapons whenever we have misunderstanding.

“She once stabbed me with a broken bottle on my head and I bled heavily which landed me in the hospital.

“Mutiatu used our kitchen knife as pillow, when I queried her; she said her pastor instructed her to use it against bad dreams.

“Many a times when I request for sex or during argument, she brings the knife out threatening to stab me.

“She is just aggressive and violent in nature; she may kill me if I continue with the marriage.

“Because of her violent nature, I ran away from the house to avoid untimely death,” he said.

He said that his family ejected his wife from his house for fear of unknown but that she came back begging, adding that he pitied her and accepted her back.

“I accepted my wife back because I thought she had learnt her lesson, but she refused to change, instead she is getting worse day by day.” The petitioner also said that his wife failed to respect him.

“My wife does not obey my orders; she always tells me that I cannot control her because we are age mate.” He said that because of his wife’s bad behaviour, she could not get a steady job.

“Employers always sack her when she exhibited her character.’’ Olaorebikan begged the court to terminate the marriage. The respondent was not in the court for her defence.

The President of the court, Mr Adegboyega Omilola, therefore, ordered bailiff to serve her another summon to appear in court and adjourned the case to Feb. 28 for further hearing.
