Remember the lady who lied to her man that she’s selling hair extensions, while secretly sleeping with men for money until she was killed by one of the men she slept with?
Here’s the update:
Bala Chinda was sent by his father, an immigration attache to the Nigerian embassy in China, to study at the Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. But only few weeks into his stay, the 26yrs old would have his life derailed in ways that he or his parents could not have imagined.
He was found guilty of r*ping and murdering 37yrs old Jessica McGraa, a married lady who’s into s*x runs and who also happened to be Nigerian.
The court heard during the trial that Chinda had been desperate for s*x on the evening before and the morning of Jessica’s death.
After searching for prostitutes and brothels nearby he eventually ended up meeting Jessica at her a residence. Unfortunately he did not have the cash required for the s*xual transaction and killed her in a frustrated rage.
According to court papers, Chinda then stole Jessica’s mobile phones in order to dispose of any evidence linking him to her.
It is believed that he smothered her with a pillow as he r*ped her and strangled her afterwards with a scarf.
Jessica’s s*x runs was unknown to friends and family who thought she’s selling hair extensions. She is survived by a young son, an ex-husband and a new boyfriend who both did not know of her promiscuous lifestyle until she was murdered.

Former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani, on Sunday at his Amaechi ward in Enugu South Council Area of Enugu State joined the All Progressives Congress, APC.
This is coming nearly one year after he denounced his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Nnamani, who spoke after he received his membership card from the APC’s national registration committee, said impunity and undemocratic practices killed the PDP.

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has directed its members nationwide to boycott all academic and allied activities at the University of Ilorin.
This was part of the resolutions reached at the end of its Awka National Executive Council meeting, a copy of the sanctions which was made available to newsmen in Ibadan by the Chairman University of Ibadan Chapter of the union, Dr Deji Omole.
ASUU wielded the big stick following what it called University of Ilorin administration persistent acts of lawless, arbitrariness, violation of human and trade union rights and persecution of loyal members.
Also, University of Ilorin academic staff will also not be allowed to carry out any academic activity on any public universities in Nigeria.
ASUU noted that despite efforts at resolving the crisis in the institution, the university management and its sponsored groups were fuelling the crisis while alleging that it forcefully deduct check-off dues without remitting it to the national body.
ASUU NEC resolved to impose sanctions on the groups and university administration, noting that for the duration of the sanctions, academic Staff of the University of Ilorin would no longer enjoy the cooperation, collaboration or participation of academics of other Nigerian public Universities, in the following areas of academic and related activities at all levels.
These included teaching, research and supervision of students; setting, moderation or assessment of examinations; external assessment for professorial for professorial cadre appointments or promotions; sabbatical, visiting, part-time and adjunct appointments, accreditation of institutions, colleges and programmes and courses, collaborative research, peer review of journal articles and patronage of journals; attendance of conferences, workshops, seminars and other related activities;
Omole further hinted that the union had also directed members to boycott all UniIlorin based journals, quarterly and newsletters, while articles from academic staff of the University of Ilorin shall not be accepted by journals for peer review and or publication in other Nigerian Universities.
“Despite all intervention efforts by the Academic Staff Union of Universities since 2001, the University of Ilorin administration has persisted in acts of lawlessness, arbitrariness, violation of human and trade union rights, and persecution of loyal members.
“Contrary to the law and despite the ruling of the National Industrial Court, the University has continued to prevent the Union from functioning on its campus. “The University has also continued to forcefully collect check-off money from academics of the university in the name of the Union without remitting it to the Union. The Union is therefore bound to protect the principles of democracy and the exercise of freedom in the academia, and also insist on the right to function through its own accredited representatives on Nigerian University campuses,” he added.According to him, NEC at its meeting at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, recognized distinct groups that have emerged in creating and prolonging the crisis at the University of Ilorin.
He said these include the following: principal officers of University of Ilorin, administration members of previous University of Ilorin, administration who were and are still active in generating and sustaining the crisis and members of the illegal “excos” from 2001 to 2014; Others were members of the current illegal “exco”; and other academics of the University of Ilorin who are aiding and abetting the crisis and illegality.
“For the avoidance of doubt, academic staff of the University of Ilorin should not participate in any of the above listed academic activities in other Nigerian public Universities.
“Similarly, academic staff of other Nigerian public Universities shall not participate in any of the listed activities in the University of Ilorin.
“These sanctions shall be complied with by all members of the Union, including those who may be serving in private Universities during the period of the sanctions, ” Omole said.

Alexis Sanchez scored the resulting spot kick to grab victory for the Gunners, who also won at Turf Moor earlier in the season thanks to a late goal from Koscielny when he again appeared to be offside.
“It’s sad that big decisions again don’t go our way,” Burnley manager Dyche told Sky Sports. “We have been unfortunate against this side twice. At home we know what happened in the dying seconds with a ridiculous moment and it’s happened again with an offside.

The Police in Kaduna on Sunday confirmed that unknown gunmen attacked Zankan village, a Fulani settlement in Kaura Local Government of the state.
Spokesman of the command, ASP Aliyu Usman, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kaduna that the incident occurred at about 8.30 p.m. on Saturday.
He said that one person was killed and five others injured in the attack.
“The dead and the injured persons have been taken to the nearest medical centre in Ganawuri town, Plateau State,” Usman said.
He, however, said that investigation into the incident had commenced.
“We are trailing the suspects behind the attack, but so far, no arrest has been made.
“We are, however, optimistic that the additional police operatives deployed in the area will fish out the culprits very soon,” he said.
The spokesman reiterated the commitment of the command to secure citizens and property in the state, saying “we will not allow lawlessness to thrive.”
He appealed to the public to always assist security agencies in the state with useful information to enable them to take proactive measures. (NAN)

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said he “regrets everything” after he followed his dismissal by pushing fourth official Anthony Taylor during Sunday’s dramatic victory over Burnley.
Wenger was sent off for reacting angrily to a 93rd-minute penalty given to Burnley, who trailed 1-0.
Andre Gray converted to equalise but Alexis Sanchez then scored another penalty to give Arsenal a 2-1 win.
“I should have shut up – I apologise for not having done that,” said Wenger.
“It was nothing malicious. I should have kept my control, even if it was in a hectic time.”
Wenger could face action from the Football Association over the incident.
The Frenchman was sent to the stands by referee Jon Moss but stood at the tunnel entrance as he tried to watch the remaining few minutes.
Taylor appeared to tell Wenger to go down the tunnel but he refused to move.
“Look, it was nothing bad,” added Wenger. “I said something that you hear every day in football. Overall, nine times out of 10, you are not sent to the stand for that.
“If I am, I am, and I should have shut up completely. I was quite calm for the whole game, more than usual.”
Alan Pardew, then Newcastle’s manager, was given a two-game touchline ban and fined £20,000 in 2012 when he pushed assistant referee Peter Kirkup during a game with Tottenham.
